Bird-watching is an incredibly popular hobby nowadays even amongst young people. It adds so much value to your travels to ensure a richly satisfying experience. The Western Cape prides itself in its floral kingdom which is called, “Fynbos” (fine bush). Fynbos includes proteas of which the King Protea, also South Africa’s national flower, is the largest . These flowers are pollinated by birds, bees and insects. Photo by Ed Raubenheimer.
COVID-19
10 March 2020
Yes, South Africa is also affected by this worldwide pandemic. Our President, Cyril Ramaphosa was very astute and announced a nationwide lock down which was implemented on March 27.2020. This is in the middle of our High Season and Agape Apartments still accommodated guests! All of a sudden flights were cancelled, the South African borders were closed and the airports were shut down!
As owners of a guest establishment one also has responsibilities towards guests; one is responsible for their security whilst they are staying with you, one has to make sure that they are as comfortable as possible and one needs to offer them the best possible service under these extreme circumstances.
Fortunately, we offer high speed fiber internet and so our guests can stay in contact with their family and friends. In addition, our apartments are equipped with the German TV which our guests can subscribe too, especially when staying for long periods of time. In this case we still managed to activate a subscription for our guests, which also contributed to their comfort in lock down. Agape Apartments offers a large garden and a pool with lovely sun deck where there is plenty of space to adhere to the 1.5 - 2.00 meter distance to uphold.
Our German guests, Rosemarie and Petra are registered with the German Consulate and receive daily updates on the evacuation procedure of Germans out of South Africa. 2200 Germans have already been evaluated from South Africa and since yesterday a further 4000 Germans are still stranded here. The people have been asked to be patient as the German government is working relentlessly on the procedure of evacuating the remaining stranded people throughout South Africa. Until this time we shall take good care of our delightful German guests and make sure that their stay at Agape Apartments is as comfortable as possible!
Enclosed, a short report from Rosemarie and Petra:-
In Dankbarkeit
Rosemarie und Petra

Day 106 of Covid-19 Lockdown. 10 July 2020 Agape Apartments is committed to feed the people in need! The curve in the Western Cape has flattened with substantially fewer infections daily. The pattern follows exactly what was predicted as we all live by very stick social distancing rules, make use of face masks and each business offers hand sanitization when one enters.
